I spoke to him through the summer but didn’t have the nerve to say someone had written a funk song dedicated to him! Thought it might cause confusion!

Hope life is going good down there.
I think I’m right in saying that your comment is the first one we’ve had from outside Shetland, so top marks for that.
A Jamiesion’s Big Pockets tour of Orkney sounds like a pretty excellent scheme, although I suspect the audiences down there would be entirely bemused by songs about the Gut Factory, the Annexe, Harry Hay and so on.
We could maybe write some new Orkney-themed songs. I’ll mention it to Adam and he’ll probably have an album worth of Orkney material by the middle of next week.
Cheers for noo.
David
PS. Watch out for new MP3s soon – maybe even this weekend if I get the chance.

I don’t think you are in Canada at all.
I think you chickened out and are actually sleeping rough in the war huts up at the Ness of Sound. You probably wander into the library once a day to use the Internet and make comments on this site.
Therefore, Sandra is still the first person outside Shetland to comment.
Got that?

I’m afraid the next gig won’t be until the new year.
Denis doesn’t get back from Morocco until the 23rd of December (or thereabouts), which leaves us with no time to practice for Christmas or New Year gigs.
We’ve had to turn down abuot a dozen offers so far, which is a bit of a pest really.
I think the next time we’ll be playing is in Scalloway on hop day after their fire festival. This has not been confirmed though.
I’ll send out an email to all newsletter subscribers any time we are going to play a gig.
Cheers for now
David
