Jamieson’s Big Pockets will be playing in the Lounge on Saturday 30th September.
Hopefully this will be the first of many winter gigs, but don’t count on it. For this reason, you should definitely make an effort to see us at the Lounge on the 30th … you never know when you’ll get the chance again!

Unfortunately, we have had to withdraw from this year’s Shetland Blues Festival.
Denis is on antibiotics to treat a throat infection, and he is not allowed to sing.
We have also had to turn down the offer of a slot at the Flavour of Shetland event on Victoria Pier.
We wish to apologise to the organisers of both these events, and we wish them every success.

The other bands appearing on Saturday are Baccus and Firebird. Adam will be playing bass for Firebird too. (Traitor)

Happy New Year from Jamieson’s Big Pockets.
We will be playing in the Scalloway Legion this Saturday (14th of January) sometime between 4pm and 8pm.
The gig is part of the celebrations for the Scalloway Fire Festival, with a selection of local bands playing throughout the afternoon.
I’ll post more details as soon as they are available.

I’m pretty sure that nobody else will care about this, but here are the setlists for all our gigs so far:

Now then,
I’ve not had time to do a proper gallery from the Norscot gig. (Come to think of it, I’ve still not done a proper gallery for any gig).
To keep you amused for a short while, here are some of my favourite shots from the night.

Last night’s Hallowe’en gig at Norscot was big success, attracting a mixture of witches, wizards, pirates, gangsters and whatever Les Scott was dressed as.
The prize for the biggest pocket was won by Orcadian Willie Grieve, whose excellent pirate costume boasted two considerably sized pockets. His mystery prize was a specially-penned song called ‘Willie Grieve’. (Big Pockets’ fans may have recognised this as being suspiciously similar to ‘Ian Selbie’).
The gig saw the first live performances of Who’s Making Love, Maybe I’m Wrong, Cold Heat and Mr. Freedom, and also saw Lyall Gair join Denis on stage for a stirring rendition of the Up Helly Aa Brass Band classic ‘Blaze Away’.
Thanks to everyone who attended – we hope you had a good night – and thanks to the Norscot Andling Club for all their efforts to make the night a success.

Note: we’ll be posting more photos here soon. Watch this space.

Now then people.
Jamieson’s Big Pockets are throwing a Hallowe’en party this Saturday in the Norscot Angling Club.
The event starts at 9pm, but feel free to come earlier if you want.
Fancy dress is not compulsory, but tons of people will be dressed up (maybe) so you should really join in too. There is a special prize for the person with the biggest pocket. Peter Sharp will apparently be the man to beat.
There will be haggis, neeps and tatties laid on by the club.

Another Mooney’s gig, and another good night. We played last (probably too late, to be honest) after a selection of Shetland’s top musical talent.
Others appearing on the night included Riptorn, Tom Morton, Rock, Salt and Nails and Bitumen River
